Jewelry Storage and Display
Yesterday, Fermin had to stop in and have the oil checked in his car- and errand I wasn’t super stoked to run with him. UNTIL I noticed a little shop called “Craft Scraps” that shared the same parking lot. I saw the word “BEADS” on the shop window, and immediately jumped out of the car, started running and yelled back at Fermin to pick me up over there when he was done with his car.
It was definitely a funky little shop. They had lots of old fabric scraps, lots of random rubber stamps, some decorative paper, old buttons, some beads… not a lot of anything, but a hodge podge of just a lot of crafty stuff that people like me LOVE.
Of all the things I saw, I was the most excited about THIS.
While at first glance you might think this is some blackberry jam… NOPE. It’s beads. Lots of little seed beads stuffed in this little jelly jar. The beads are great and I know I’ll put them to good use- and the price was great- under $5 for all of them! But the best part for me was the idea of storing beads in jelly jars. GENIUS.
I’m forever shoving more and more beads in these annoying containers I bought years ago at Michael’s. There are so many, that I can’t really close lids anymore and it’s become somewhat of a mess. But JELLY JARS?!?!?! I can just see those displayed all over the place in my jewelry room, not just being functional, but also being super cute.
Besides the jar full of beads, I also picked out a handful of vintage buttons and a few clasps.
I kept my first visit to Craft Scraps short and sweet. Fermin’s car was in and out quickly and I didn’t want him to have to wait too long on me. And mostly, because I couldn’t wait to get home to my computer to order my own jelly jars off of Amazon!
The jars I ordered are actually cuter than this one, but it definitely inspired what is soon to come. I’ll post some pics once they arrive and get filled up with beads! YAY.
